Ignite the SPARK. Fuel the Future.
Bringing STEM to Every Student
Project SPARK is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Houston, Texas. We saw declining interest and passion for STEM subjects. After closer research, we realized this wasn't because kids didn't like STEM — it was because socioeconomic barriers prevented many students from accessing opportunities that could advance curiosity. We developed and founded Project SPARK, an organization aimed at bringing STEM education to all students completely free, because financial situations shouldn't hold any child back from their passion.
What We Do
Project SPARK engages students both virtually and in person. Online, we run our own science newsletter and 30-day Deep Dive Challenges that have reached over 1,800 followers. In person, we've hosted our Holiday Workshop, Summer STEM Camps, and weekly hands-on lessons at Jamison Middle School, connecting with over 500 students so far and counting.
Reaching Students Where They Are
In Pearland ISD, 37% of students are classified as economically disadvantaged. We partnered directly with Title 1 schools, like Jamison Middle School, Leon Sablatura Middle School, and CJ Harris Elementary, to bring free STEM experiences straight to the students who need it the most.
Consistent Service
Rather than a single event, we've built ongoing engagement that spans over 500 hours: weekly sessions at Jamison Middle School, 100 STEM kits donated across two Title 1 schools, and recurring online content that keeps students learning between our events.
Growing Every Month
Since launching, our online reach has grown to over 250,000 views across social media, alongside a print and digital science magazine and newsletter that puts real, tangible STEM content into students' hands.
